Jesus is the Reason for Life!
Advent is the period of time during the four Sundays before Christmas and it is a favorite season for me. I love the music, lights, TV specials, concerts, shopping, and the anticipation of Christmas day. It seems that this season causes us to want to do a little more for others and give a little more of ourselves. It is a time when we look   forward to seeing family and friends and we set aside time in our busy schedules for others. Best of all, it is the time of year that we think about Jesus, probably more than any other time.

A great slogan from the past is “Jesus is the Reason for the Season”. Most of us can recall when this could be seen on  every bumper and sign around the     country. I cannot agree more that Jesus is the reason for the Christmas season and we need to keep him in focus, but what about the rest of the year?

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the      reason we have life. Jesus is the reason we have hope and freedom from sin. Jesus is the reason why we do not have to live in fear of death. Jesus made us, keeps us alive, and gives us a life after death. Jesus must not only be the      reason for the season, but also the reason for every day.

If you have not said yes to Jesus for  every day of your life, you can do it now. What a better time of year to make room for Jesus in your heart. This is the time of year that we celebrate  Jesus’ giving himself to us. Let’s give ourselves in return.

Jesus can and will make a difference in our lives.
