FAQ's About Worship at CFUMC:
  • Where are the restrooms? From the front door of the church, go through the doors on the left. Restrooms are on your left. From the rear parking lot, continue down the hallway and through the glass doors. Restrooms are on your right.
  • How do I know when to stand or sit? The pastor or worship leader will ask the congregation to stand if they are able and you will be asked to sit at the appropriate time.
  • How do I know what to sing or say? All hymns and prayers will be projected on the screen. We also have hymnals (books) that contain the songs.
  • How do I share a joy or concern for prayer time? If you would like to share a joy or concern, simply raise your hand. An usher will bring you a microphone so we are able to hear.
  • What do I do with my offering? Offering plates are in the back of the sanctuary by the glass walls. Place your gifts in the plates ahead of worship. If you do not put your gift in ahead of the service, you can place your gifts in the plate on the way out. It will be picked up from there. If you would like offering envelopes, ask at the sound table.
  • What is The Lord’s Prayer? Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven: Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil; For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
  • Who can come forward for the children’s message? Anyone is welcome, but generally the children come forward if they feel comfortable. A parent or guardian may come with the child until they are comfortable coming alone.
  • Can my child attend Sunday School if they do not come forward for Children’s message? YES!
  • Are the children’s workers trained? Our children’s workers are Safe Sanctuary trained and leaders have some level of childhood education.
  • How many adults will be with my children? We will have one adult leader and one “floater” at all children’s ministry times.
  • Where will my children be during Sunday School? The children will go to room #207 or #210 on the sanctuary level of the building.
  • Do you have a nursery? We have a nursery. If you have need of nursery care, let the pastor or usher know when you arrive and arrangements will be made. The nursery is in room #218.
  • Who may come forward to take communion? The Lord’s table is open to all who desire to take communion. Anyone may come forward.
  • How do I take communion? We take communion by “intinction.” This means that the pastor or communion steward will hand you a piece of bread and you will dip it in the cup before you eat it.
  • Is wine served at communion? We use grape juice for communion so that all people can partake.
  • What if I am gluten free? We offer a gluten free option for communion. When you arrive at the front, tell the server you are gluten free and they will offer you the gluten free plate from the table. You may take the bread and dip it in the separate cup yourself. Note: We also offer individual cups for those who do not wish to take from the common loaf or cup.
  • How can I become a member of CFUMC? If you would like to become a member of CFUMC, fill out a yellow connection card and hand it to the pastor or leave it at the sound table on your way out. The pastor will contact you during the week.
  • How do I get baptized? Make an appointment to speak to the pastor for these arrangements.
  • How can I make an appointment to speak to the pastor? If you would like to meet with the pastor, fill out a yellow connection card and hand it to the pastor or leave it at the sound table on your way out. The pastor will contact you during the week.
